Revive Your Spirit In Our Mountains
.
In many ways, time stands still in Weaverville. People gather on the street to discuss families, work, high school football and the change of seasons.
Weaverville
is a place where the police jiggle doorknobs every evening to make sure shopkeepers remember to lock up. The walkers and joggers exchange "heys" as they pass at Lake Louise. Garden Club volunteers keep downtown plantings a burst of seasonal colors. Area farmers sell their produce, flowers and canned goods at a tailgate market downtown every Thursday in the warm months. Postal carriers deliver letters even when the address has been left off the envelope.
There are two parades a year to commemorate the events dearest to the hearts of Weaverville residents, Christmas and North Buncombe High School Homecoming. Weaverville is only six miles from downtown Asheville, but its pace and values are generation away.
